Imagine the entrance to a country churchyard has been taken over by nature – beautiful climbing pillars of fragrant English blooms in shades of pink, purple and porcelain blue. This is what I wanted to create for Andrew and Charlotte and their stunning wedding that mixed tradition with romantic wildness. Using delicate cornflower and clematis, beautiful blousy peonies, roses, daisies, nigella and taller spears of stocks and delphinium, I created a huge broken archway at the entrance to the church. This ‘wild meadow’ feel was continued at the reception with a wow-factor staircase (I can never resist a statement staircase moment) and sculpturally abundant urn arrangements. The overall effect was one of sophistication with a natural softness to it – I loved working on these wedding flowers.
