Designing and creating the flowers for Alex and Chris’s wedding at The Matara Centre was particularly special. Alex is my cousin, so after setting up all morning I pulled on my pink dress and transformed into a guest. Don’t you just love a family wedding?!

Jewel Tones & Bright Colours

Alex and Chris wanted lots of jewel tones and bright summery colours for their wedding flowers. I used vuvuzela, Kate and Juliet roses, peonies, clematis, delphiniums and more alongside eucalyptus, soft ruscus and jasmine.

Ceremony & Reception

For the couple’s courtyard ceremony, I suggested a floral meadow installation. This created a beautiful backdrop for their vows. I also placed small votives filled with blooms along the wall. These were then moved to the guest tables at the reception and placed around the base of tall riser arrangements. These worked so well with the high ceiling.

The top table featured a stunning floral cascading runner. The beautiful cake designed by Bake My Cake was placed on a clear plinth above a bed of cascading foliage.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of my cousin’s wedding day and work with such bright, joyful colours. How Photography captured everything perfectly and The Matara Centre is a wonderful venue. Take a look at Natalie and Daniel’s wedding to see it decorated in a completely different colour scheme.
