When couples get in touch with me about their wedding flowers, I’m always conscious of the fact they’ve probably never worked with a florist before. If they have, it’s usually on a much smaller scale and rarely for an occasion as important as their wedding day. To make things a little easier, I thought I’d walk you through the whole process. Here’s what to expect when you book your wedding flowers with Daisy Lane Floral Design…
Consultation
Once I’ve received your enquiry, the first thing I do is send across a price guide and a handy link to my online calendar so you can book a consultation. These normally take place at my studio in Clevedon, but I also offer Skype and phone appointments if it’s difficult to meet in person.
Consultations normally take around one hour. We’ll talk in detail about bouquets, buttonholes and flowers for both your ceremony and reception. I always encourage my couples to bring along any relevant details such as colour swatches, inspiration photos and links to any Pinterest boards. I’ll be able to offer advice about what’s in season, specific flowers that tie in with your colour scheme and the designs that will work well within your chosen venue.
Proposal
After our chat, I’ll prepare a bespoke proposal which includes a mood board and inspiration board to help you visualise your wedding flowers. I’ll also provide a full breakdown of all the floral arrangements and the costs involved. Once I’ve sent this across, I normally hold your wedding date for 14 days. When you’re ready to go ahead, a £300 non-refundable deposit secures your place in my schedule.
Your Wedding Flowers
We’ll stay in touch throughout the run-up to your wedding day. I recommend a final meeting six to eight weeks before to go through all the details and make sure I have everything I need to create your dream wedding flowers. Your final balance is due two weeks before your wedding date.
On the day itself, I’ll provide full set-up and installation at the church and/or wedding venue. I’ll also deliver all bouquets and buttonholes to the wedding party. If necessary, I’ll stay on through your ceremony so I can move arrangements across to the reception.
The following day, you won’t have to worry about a thing! I’ll return to your venue, take down and remove all installations and collect any hired items.
