Floristry in Clevedon, North Somerset
Clevedon Hall boasts some truly beautiful spaces – high ceilings and stately dark wood, or contemporary brightness with the new orangery. Melissa and Chris made use of both sides of this grand venue’s personality, using height and texture in their flowers that matched the splendour of the old house and made an impact in the orangery.
Roses, delphiniums, hydrangea, larkspur, campanula, lilac in hues of dusky pink, pale peach and cream were used to make large scale floral pillars at the end of the aisle (I love the contemporary romance of broken archways like this one). And at the entrance to the ceremony room I made huge, sculptural and abundant urns that really stood out against the mahogany panelling.
For the orangery wedding breakfast, I garlanded the top table with a richly textured floral runner, and made statuesque riser arrangements for the table centres, with bud vases clustered around the bases, to add interest and colour at a variety of heights. Stylish, romantic and memorable – I loved this suite of wedding flowers.
